Lianne van Rijssel

I was born in 1974. After my secundary education I first worked and travelled for three years, in Holland, but also in France, India and Nepal. Then I started my studies on "Nutrition and Health" at the university of Wageningen, which I finished in 1999 with a thesis in Germany (on living and working communities) and my period of practical training in Ghana. I still wanted to travel and at the beginning of 2000 I started as a travel guide with SNP Nature Travels. I mainly guided tours in countries around the Mediterranean (France, Italy, Greece and the deserts of Morocco and Egypt). When I had been a full-time travel guide for two years, my husband Richard and I decided to settle in Holland. We were married in April 2004. On 24th July 2005 our son Yander Janus Ibrahim was born and at the 27th September 2007 our daughter Yousse Dora Napaari. At present I work for our organisation "Meet Africa" with the greatest pleasure. In this way I can daily combine my greatest passions: a fascination for and love of other cultures and I can convey these feelings to others.
